A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), over alleged corruption and abuse of office involving N5.2 billion to 30 April.

The case, brought by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), comprises 18 count charges of corruption and fraud relating to Prof. Ojerinde's tenure at both the National Examination Council (NECO) and JAMB.

Proceedings scheduled for Tuesday before Justice Mohammed Umar did not take place as the judge was unavailable, having been engaged in another official assignment. The matter was consequently moved to 30 April.

Prof. Ojerinde is facing trial alongside four of his children, Mary Ojerinde, Olumide Ojerinde, Adebayo Ojerinde and Oluwaseun Ojerinde. Six companies allegedly linked to him are also listed as co defendants. These are Doyin Ogbohi Petroleum Limited, Cheng Marbles Limited, Sapati International Schools Limited, Trillium Learning Centre Limited, Standout Institutes Limited and Esli Perfect Security Printers Limited.

The case, with suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/119/2023, is among several criminal prosecutions the ICPC has initiated against the former JAMB registrar. On 16 July 2025, Prof. Ojerinde and the commission agreed to an out of court settlement of the N5.2 billion case, though the trial has continued.

Prof. Ojerinde is separately facing another 18 count charge involving alleged diversion of funds during his time at NECO and JAMB. That case is being heard in a sister court under Justice Obiora Egwuatu and has been scheduled for 25 March.
