The JAMB Mop Up Examination Date for the 2026 UTME has officially been announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board for candidates who were unable to participate in the main examination due to verified issues such as biometric verification problems, technical failures at CBT centres, network disruptions, or other unavoidable circumstances.

The exam is slated for June 13th, 2026. See Full Announcement: JAMB Schedules UTME Mop Up Exam for June 13

Every year, thousands of candidates miss their scheduled UTME for reasons beyond their control, and the JAMB mop up examination provides another opportunity for affected candidates to complete the admission process without waiting for the next UTME cycle.

Candidates eligible for the mop up exam are advised to monitor official JAMB communication channels regularly for updates regarding slip reprinting, CBT centre details, and examination instructions.

What Is the JAMB Mop Up Examination?

The JAMB Mop Up Examination is an additional UTME arranged for candidates who were unable to sit for their original examination due to verified issues beyond their control. The examination is not meant for candidates who have simply decided not to attend their exam. Instead, it is mainly organised for:

  • Candidates affected by technical problems at CBT centres.
  • Candidates with biometric verification issues.
  • Candidates whose exams were disrupted or cancelled.
  • Candidates officially rescheduled by JAMB.
  • Candidates approved by JAMB after investigation.

The mop up exam gives eligible candidates another chance to participate in the UTME process without waiting for the next admission year.

  • Avoid bringing prohibited items into the exam hall
  • Follow all CBT examination instructions carefully
  • Ensure proper biometric verification before the exam begins

Will Mop Up Candidates Be Considered for Admission?

Yes. Candidates who write the JAMB Mop Up Examination are considered for admission the same way as candidates who wrote the main UTME.

Once results are released, candidates can:

  • Participate in Post UTME screenings
