More than 12,000 candidates in Jigawa State have completed their registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with the total standing at 12,860 as the deadline for electronic PIN purchases approaches.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Public Relations Officer in Jigawa State, Mukarram Bello Adamu, announced the figures in a statement released on Wednesday in Dutse, the state capital. He confirmed that registrations were conducted across 16 computer based test centres distributed throughout the state.

Federal University Dutse centres recorded the highest number of registrations with 4,936 candidates, representing nearly 40 per cent of the state total. Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, followed with 2,287 candidates, while the JAMB State Office in Dutse registered 1,740 candidates.

Other centres with significant registrations include Future Map Foundation Centre, Hadejia, with 1,662 candidates, Bunyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, with 1,622 candidates, and BHT Inter Systems Dutse with 1,091 candidates. Al Hikmah CBT Centre Birnin Kudu registered 728 candidates, G City College of Nursing Sciences, Gwaram, recorded 678 candidates, and Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, registered 596 candidates.

Smaller registrations were recorded at Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure, with 569 candidates, Jigawa State College of Advanced and Remedial Studies, Babura, with 134 candidates, and Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, with 28 candidates.
Adamu reminded candidates that UTME PIN vending closes on 26 February, while the final date for completing registration at centres is 28 February. He also announced that Direct Entry registration will open on 2 March 2026 and run until 25 April 2026, exclusively at the JAMB office in Dutse.

He urged candidates who have not yet registered to act quickly and complete the process before the deadline, assuring them of continued support at all accredited centres.
