A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship contender in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has initiated his scholarship programme with the distribution of complimentary Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration forms to students in Lagelu Local Government Area as part of his preparation for the 2028 gubernatorial race.
The programme, targeting 10,000 students statewide, recorded its first distribution on Tuesday at the Lasting Glory JAMB CBT Centre in Ejioku Area, where over 200 Lagelu students received and completed their registration without financial obligation.
Hon. Imoleayo Sola Idowu, speaking on behalf of the governorship aspirant, positioned the intervention within Ambassador Ajadi's broader political strategy and commitment to educational advancement. He explained that "He has been doing it, this is not the first time. By 2028, he will be in the Oyo Government House by the Grace of God and will do more for the state...He is desirous of making education accessible to the downtrodden."
The initiative will traverse Oyo's 33 local government areas, with Egbeda designated as the subsequent distribution point.
Student beneficiary Adigun Rasheedat Ololade, accessing her second JAMB form, praised the free provision. She noted that "I sincerely thank Ambassador Ajadi for his kind gesture. I obtained the form for free, and that is commendable. I pray God to grant him all his wishes."
Abdul Rasheed Adebayo, who had previously abandoned hopes of sitting the examination due to financial constraints, acknowledged the opportunity. He said, "First of all, I thank God for this opportunity. I thank Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo for his support in providing free JAMB forms to many of us who, without him will not have been able to get the forms because of financial difficulties. Ambassador Ajadi gives us hope through his empowerment. And because of what he has done for us, God will grant his desires."
Hon. Adesunbo Banatunde, a local councillor, praised the programme's reach within Lagelu and encouraged similar philanthropic efforts from other wealthy Nigerians. He said, "We are so much grateful. In this local government, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, the beneficiaries are more than 200. We appreciate Ambassador Ajadi for his kind gesture."
