The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has cleared candidates to begin printing their original 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result slips, with the process set to commence within two hours of a statement issued on Wednesday by spokesperson Fabian Benjamin. He explained that the document holds candidates' photographs, national ranking, and security features needed for Post UTME screening and institutional admission.
According to the statement, "The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing within the next two hours today, Wednesday, 17th June, 2026." Benjamin added that the slip remains one of the official requirements considered during post UTME processing, and noted that candidates can retrieve it from any internet enabled device, be it a personal computer, office system, or accredited business centre.
Candidates were cautioned to go through their printed details carefully and preserve copies for subsequent admission procedures.
This latest update trails Tuesday's release of results from the 2026 UTME Mop Up examination, an exercise held on June 13 for candidates who ran into biometric or technical issues during April's main examination. JAMB had previously paused the printing of original slips to allow it conclude both the foreign based examinations and the Mop Up sitting, a delay the board explained on May 19 while appealing to candidates for patience.
With the slips now accessible, candidates are positioned to move forward with applications to Tertiary Institutions for the 2026/2027 admission cycle. The timing carries weight for many, as a number of schools have already opened or are nearing the opening of their Post UTME registration windows. Industry observers continue to point to the original slip's security features as central to identity verification during screening at universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education throughout the country.
