Principals, invigilators, and supervisors across four local government areas in Taraba State have been placed on notice to conduct the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination without any form of malpractice, as the state government signals its commitment to credible results.

The warning was issued by the Commissioner for Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education, Dr Augustina Godwin, on Saturday during a WAEC 2026 sensitisation meeting held at the Government Technical and Training School, Jalingo. The meeting drew examination officials from Lau, Karim Lamido, Jalingo, and Ardo Kola Local Government Councils.

Dr Godwin stressed that professionalism, discipline, and integrity were non negotiable in the administration of the examination, warning school administrators and officials against all forms of misconduct.

"Taraba State must continue to stand out in academic excellence through hard work and credibility. We must collectively ensure zero malpractice during the conduct of WAEC examinations," she declared.

She added that the Taraba State Government under Governor Dr Agbu Kefas remains committed to promoting quality education and restoring public confidence in the examination system, urging all officials to comply strictly with WAEC rules and guidelines.

The WAEC Branch Controller in the state used the occasion to commend Governor Kefas for his sustained support of the education sector. He disclosed that the governor was the first in Taraba State's history to clear all 2026 WAEC related fees, a development he noted had significantly reduced the financial burden on parents and increased student participation in external examinations.

The branch controller also acknowledged the governor's donation of a utility van to the WAEC office in the state, describing the gesture as a demonstration of genuine commitment to improving examination administration at the grassroots level.
