Nigerian University hopefuls sitting the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination now have their first official performance data ahead of the main sitting, after JAMB released the results of the 28 March Mock UTME on Tuesday.
Candidates can access their scores by sending MOCKRESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the phone number registered during the 2026 UTME sign up process. JAMB confirmed that 224,597 candidates registered for the exercise, of whom 152,586 successfully sat the test across 989 Computer Based Test centres nationwide. The main UTME is scheduled to open on 16 April 2026.
For candidates also preparing for WAEC, NECO or other qualifying examinations running concurrently, the mock result offers a useful checkpoint. How you performed in Mathematics, English Language and your science or arts subjects in the JAMB mock is a reasonable indicator of where your preparation stands across all the examinations that will determine your tertiary admission outcome this year.
There is, however, a warning that applies specifically to the UTME cycle and which candidates must take seriously. Fraudsters are circulating messages on WhatsApp claiming they can manipulate UTME scores in exchange for payment. JAMB stated plainly that these claims are false and criminal, and that any candidate found to have engaged with them faces outright cancellation of their registration. "Where such infractions are discovered after the examination, results may be withheld or withdrawn," the board added.
The lesson from past cycles is consistent: candidates who spend the weeks between the mock and the main UTME reviewing weak subjects outperform those who seek shortcuts that do not exist. Check your result, identify your gaps and direct your preparation accordingly between now and 16 April.
