A strong command of English and a passion for teaching can open the door to a rewarding career in education. Before applying for admission, however, it is important to know the score expected by universities offering the programme.

The Cut Off Mark for Education and English Language 2026/2027 differs from one institution to another. While JAMB announces the general benchmark for university admissions, individual universities are free to set their own cut off marks based on competition, admission quotas, and institutional policies.

Education and English Language equips students with teaching skills and a solid understanding of English grammar, literature, communication, and language development.
Graduates are prepared for careers in teaching, curriculum development, publishing, educational administration, and other language-related professions.

What is the JAMB Cut Off Mark for Education and English Language 2026/2027?

The general JAMB minimum cut off mark for Education and English Language is 140. However, many universities require candidates to score 160, 180, or 200, depending on their admission requirements and the competitiveness of the programme.

Although the minimum score qualifies candidates for admission consideration, achieving a higher UTME score can greatly improve your chances of gaining admission into your preferred university.
